During my Graphic Design studies, I was assigned to create a fictional company for practice. My classmate Jochem had just started his musical career, so we decided to work together on establishing his branding. Since he had nothing in place, we began with research. Who was his target audience? What were his goals? What image did he want to convey? However, he did have a name in mind for himself: Disynthegrate. We continued to build upon this.
Together, we had many discussions and came to the conclusion that his target audience was essentially himself. Music was his hobby and his passion. He would continue to create it no matter the demand. Therefore, we filled in everything from his perspective. He was looking for a retro-futuristic style that aligned with his Synthwave music. And that's how we developed the following designs.
